Assalamualaikum and hi everyone! Phew. This post has been sitting in my draft for ages! I am really excited to show you guys my makeup essentials-cum-makeup routine. A little bit of disclaimer before I start: no, I do not wear makeup everyday. I’m only wearing them when I’m going out but that also depends on which place I’m going to. If it was just supermarkets or quick breakfast/lunch/dinner with my family, then hell no. Uh-uh. I’m going to spare myself the hassle of having to remove them at the end of the day.
These are what I normally use for my base makeup
Primer
Essence UV Base Moisturizing primer (must moisturize and prime your face before putting on makeup for that long lasting effect)
Liquid base
I have choices from BB cream (Laneige BB Cushion), CC cream (Rachel K CC Cream), to foundation (Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel foundation). Sometimes I use the BB cream and foundation together. CC cream is for when I want something sheer and lightweight and easy to put on.
Setting
You must set your liquid base with a setting powder or else the product is going to move around and it will get patchy. For that, I use Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder. It’s a white loose powder that you put all over your liquid base. It will not change the colour of your foundation, so don’t worry!
Brow
I’m using NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in ECPO2 dark brown/brown. I use the lightest shade in this duo for my brows as I already have a pair of annoying, dark, and thick eyebrows. As you can see, wax is also provided (but it’s soooo dirty omg).
Eyeshadow
I’m not a heavy eyeshadow user so normally I love using Maybelline Color Tattoo in the shade bad to the bronzeall over my eyelid. Just use your finger and smudge it on your lids. Easy peasy. It does last long too so don’t worry on having to touch up your eyeshadow. You don’t need that with this cream product.
Mascara
For mascara, I love using Essence Lash Mania Reloaded. I love my Maybelline mascaras they are all very good but I would go with this one just because it isn’t waterproof. I just hate waterproof mascaras because removing it is a pain in the arse!
Blusher
This is my holy grail blush! It’s the Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush in the shade pink kiss that I illegally took from my mom. It’s so beautiful and the lasting power is amazing! I would definitely recommend it.
Highlighter
I’m using Essence Soo Glow! Cream to Powder highlighter on my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, under my brows and my cupid’s bow. It is a really good highlighter with a long staying power and color payoff. Did I mention that it’s inexpensive, too?
Lipstick
MAC Mineralize Rich lipstick in the shade glamour era is my holy grail. It looks quite reddish in the picture but it is actually a soft brown which turns to nude once I’ve eaten or drank with it. It suits my skin colour really well. Let me know if you want me to do reviews/swatches of any of these products.
