My blog downtime, a stupid mistake, and Ed Sheeran Divide!

— This was written on Thursday, March 9th 2017

Typing this on Blogger.com post editor because my blog server has been down for 4 hours (at the time I’m typing this). I can’t enter my blog nor am I able to access my WordPress dashboard. Here’s the thing with using shared hosting: if someone in the same server as yours encounters problems with their website, it will affect your blog too. My server has been having problem for about a week or so because I notice that there are times where I can’t access my site at all. I mean, apart from editing a little bit of coding and typing blog posts, I honestly don’t have any clue on how to solve any technical problems so if you’re able to read this, that means everything is sorted out (by itself, that is) and I’m able to access my dashboard again.

I have no intention of writing a blog post as I have a lot of tests and assignments due next week but I’m just salty that my blog is facing downtime. EEEEEEEK. I hate it.

Anyway, in my What I Love in January post I mentioned that I visited my sick uncle in the hospital. His condition has gotten worse in the last couple of months and sadly at 10.30PM of March 8th, he passed away. Rest in peace, Paklang. Al-fatihah.

— 9 hours later

My blog is finally accessible! Well, it has been for about 7 hours ago but of course I had to stop writing to do something else. Who am I kidding I can’t even spend 30 uninterrupted minutes writing a blog post without putting it off and doing something else in between. Soz.

I know I haven’t been the best in updating my blog these days but my studies come first, you guys. If I’m not studying or blogging, I’m either talking to my housemates or sleeping. I don’t know how I was able to sleep super late every day during my gap year when nowadays getting an extra 10 minutes sleep before having to get ready for an 8 am class is such a bliss. I’m always tired, I’m always hungry, and I’m afraid it’s going to take its toll on my weight later on.

Last week after class during gap hour, I went to Tesco by myself. Of course I had to pay a visit to Mr. DIY ’cause who knows what gem I might find there and lo and behold, I found marble contact paper for RM4.20. Holy crap I immediately grab one and went to pay for it. I know everyone’s getting pretty tired of the abundance of marble background photos in blogging community but I can’t deny that marble background makes your photos instantly beautiful and stock-photos-looking. I gotta say that it’s the best 4 ringgit and twenty cents I’ve ever spent on. Well, apart from corn-in-cup with extra condensed milk from a snack and confectionary booth at Tesco, that is.

I have been a WordPress user for 3 months and a half and so far I haven’t changed my blog design to a new one particularly because I’m in university and I need money to survive so spending two hundred so easily on something I don’t really need is not a luxury that I have right now. If I were home, I would have bought Pipdig Opulence theme a long time ago. Ugh so cute, so beautiful, and so chick. Now that I have publicly mentioned my favourite theme, there’s an 80% chance that I won’t purchase it just because it won’t be a surprise anymore hahaha.

Don’t get me wrong — I love my design so much and I’m always changing fonts and doing a little bit of tweaking here and there but I went through a quarter of year using the same design so…. you know me. Anyway, I found a new Blogger template by thebasicpage which is so beautiful that if I were still using Blogger, I would have purchased it for my blog immediately! I just have a thing for beautiful designs. Maybe I should do an updated template recommendation, eh? Just because I’m using WordPress, doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate pretty Blogger templates out there.

I wrote a heck long of a post about The Vampire Diaries series finale but I forgot to click Save Draft. AAAAAAAAAAHH. I ain’t gonna try to write it again. What has past is past. Bye. I’d rather enjoy chocolate desserts that my housemate brought back at 2 in the morning from Mokaya.

Can we all talk about how good Ed Sheeran new album is? I remember when Ed’s Multiply album was all I listened to during my first year of degree back in 2014 because the album was so so good! Divide is awesome and I love all the songs in it! A few of my favourites are Perfect and HappierPerfect makes me all giddy inside whilst listening to Happier feels like my heart is being ripped apart slowly and nothing can fix my broken soul now and oh god Ed, please stop, T.T

And also because the last two lines of Happier;

But if he breaks your heart like lovers do
Just know that I’ll be waiting here for you

was the same thing my boyfriend (then, friend) told me back in March 2012 when I was dating someone else. Happier is a song about him when we were not yet dating and the resemblance is solid 90%. Of course I was touched when I first listened to it while walking home from class. Sobs.

The thing is, if this is what love feels like then the heartbreaks and awful things I went through before were worth it and if I have to go through it again to feel this love, I’ll do it in a heart beat — no doubt. I know now why awful things that happened to me needed to happen because right now I’m really enjoying the small piece of the rainbow.

Wish me luck for my tests this week! So so glad I don’t have mid semester exam.

PS: I’ll reply to comments after I’m done with my tests and assignments that I need to pass up. Peace out.
