‘Stepping Up My Skincare Game’ Haul

I’m not one to get sucked into product hype in the beauty world (really Erin?) but with just less than half a year until my wedding, I needed to change up my skincare routine so that I’ll look my best during my big day. My goal right now is to try out the 10-step Korean skincare routine so everything that I bought is to complete the routine with the exception of a few products. A few products are still on their way to be shipped to me so I’ll create a separate blog post for that as well. Here’s what I’ve been buying this month!

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% | 30ml, RM39 (link to post)

This serum is my everlasting love. I believe this is my third bottle and I will keep repurchasing it because it does good things to my skin. If you want an all-rounder serum, definitely give The Ordinary Niacinamide a try. Check out the link to the post where I wrote all about TO Niacinamide.

The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA | 30ml, RM49

This one is amazing for dark acne scars and hyper pigmentation. Unfortunately for me, my acne scars are red so it doesn’t work that well on my scars BUT it brightens and evens out my skin tone. I use it during PM routine and the added hyaluronic acid makes my skin even smoother.

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 | 15ml, RM38.60

I LOVE THIS STUFF. I’ve evolved from using petroleum jelly as my lip treatment for over a decade to using this overly expensive lip balm. To me, it is expensive because petroleum jelly costs me around RM4 and it lasts me years and years until I had to throw it away pass expiry date. This one lasts me a good few months before I had to repurchase but it’s so worth it.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater | 118ml, RM42

It straight up smells like your grandmother’s perfume, I ain’t gonna lie. Despite the smell, it gives a boost of hydration before I put on moisturiser. I really like this face mist and will consider buying the other two face mists from Mario Badescu.

Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque | 28ml, RM36.70

I swear by this clay mask! Kiehl’s always give out samples whenever I went to their store and I fell in love with this mask right away. I bought the small jar first just to try out and I especially love putting it as an overnight treatment on my acne. I will definitely buy the large jar once I ran out of this one.

Ceradan Skin Barrier Repair Cream | 80gm, RM90

If you have dry and irritated skin, I beg you to PLEASE try this moisturiser, it will change your life. I love it so much. I do have oily skin and the Ceradan Hydra would suit me better but nah sis I love moisturising and hydrating product so I really like this cream one. It’s a lil bit pricey but I only use the tiniest amount to cover my whole face. Love it!

COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner | 150ml, RM55.90

I’m dipping my toes into the whole acids shebang but I’m just too scared of using a high percentage acids so I start with this COSRX AHA/BHA toner as it has very low acids percentage. I’ve seen wonderful results after a week of using it such as smoother skin, less blackheads on my nose (my friend notices it too!), and lesser bumps.

Heimish All Clean Balm | 120ml, RM74

One reason why I never got into cleansing oils was because I knew that my skin will hate it. Cleansing balm, however, is a whole different story. I know that it’s basically oil in sold form but it doesn’t feel terrifying for my skin like the oil does. And boy this stuff is so good! I figured it’s best to make a review post about it once I’ve made up my mind about how I feel about this product.

Have you tried any of these? What’s your favourite skincare product?
